One night, while we were chilling around the bonfire, I noticed him staring at me. I mean, for minutes we were just looking at each other from one side of the bonfire to the other.

You can always handle the problem by starting a conversation about it, but you can also use more indirect ways to see if the person is actually interested in you. It's also possible that they have noticed your feelings and are feeling uncomfortable, or that they do not wish to talk to you.

You may also want to spend some time evaluating what you're feeling and whether you want to be with the other person or not. Try not to take it too personally; sometimes the best thing to do is ask them how they feel.
